UAE open to China AI despite U.S. concerns: minister

DUBAI — The United Arab Emirates is not worried about China’s growing dominance in the technology sector, and is open to partnering with countries from around the world, a key minister said in an interview.

Omar Sultan al Olama, the UAE’s minister of state for artificial intelligence, digital economy and remote work applications, told Nikkei Asia that the UAE is open to using Chinese technology, noting, “As long as it makes economic sense, we will use it.”
